EXTAG® is a software platform designed for asset-intensive organisations to ensure all assets, no matter how minor, are compliant, safe, and ready for use. It is built and supported by EXTAG Pty Ltd in Perth, Western Australia.

ERP and maintenance systems handle core and critical assets, but many other assets and supporting equipment are excluded and are often managed manually with paper or spreadsheets. That gap, lower-value, high-quantity assets below the "ERP exclusion line", is what EXTAG is built to close.

No. EXTAG works alongside your ERP and connects to it. EXTAG does not do your ERP's finance, procurement or stores functions. For maintenance management it can also serve as your CMMS if you would prefer one system.

It can. EXTAG runs planned and preventive maintenance, reactive work orders, assignment to your own people or contractors, scheduling, cost capture, backlog and overdue tracking, closure evidence and reporting. Many organisations use it alongside their ERP for the assets the ERP does not cover, and others use it as their CMMS. Either way, EXTAG can connect to your other systems.

ERPs are built for core and critical assets, and they are expensive and slow to change. EXTAG gives the rest of your equipment ERP-level control, and connects back to the ERP.

EXTAG is built and supported by a Perth-based team. We configure your forms, workflows and reports, support your people, test and release platform updates and security patches, and make changes for you, so you do not need a specialist admin team. Minor changes are often made within 24 hours, and larger ones in one to three weeks.

EXTAG has been in daily use since 2018, primarily in the resources sector. It is used across process, mining, renewables, oil and gas, power, agriculture and health, with published results from oil and power producers and WA resources sites.

Yes. Contractors scan the same tags, complete the same forms and leave evidence of their work in your register. Staff and contractors can be added without increasing your licence cost.

Both work with EXTAG, and both identify an asset when scanned. The key difference is proof of presence. When someone completes an action or form on an asset, EXTAG records whether the tag was scanned as part of the process, showing the person was physically at the asset. NFC tags are secure and can't be easily copied, while a QR code can be photographed and scanned anywhere, away from the asset. Choose NFC where compliance and audits need evidence the work was done at the asset, and QR labels where a camera scan is enough. Neither tracks location live; GPS tags are the live location option.

Asset register software keeps a single, current record of every asset you own or manage, with its identifier, location, status, inspections and history, instead of spreadsheets. EXTAG's asset register software links each record to an NFC tag or QR label, so a scan with any phone opens the record and keeps it up to date. It is built in Perth and used across Australia and internationally.

Hand over your registers, spreadsheets and system extracts as they are. We profile, cleanse and reconcile the data, load it, and keep your original identifiers on each record so records stay matched. Asset details are verified in the field as tags are attached.

Yes. It all depends on the data captured, and because we use Power BI we can create any report you need.

EXTAG is used for everything from a few hundred assets to hundreds of thousands of assets, with the same app at every size. It suits single sites as well as large-scale asset management and high-volume asset registers, and you can start with one asset class and grow.

No. EXTAG is one platform with a separate, tailored implementation for each area, such as scaffolding, lifting and rigging, fire equipment, inspections and preservation. Each implementation can have its own access, its own team, its own forms and workflows and its own reporting. Your IT team approves EXTAG once, so you can expand to new areas without approving another app.

Attach EXTAG tags to your assets, scan the tag with a standard phone or tablet to access information and complete tasks, then instantly visualise your data. Just scan the tag and select your activity.

It does. EXTAG works offline, supporting remote operations and industrial areas. Scanning and forms keep working without a signal, and the data syncs when you are back in coverage.

No. Scanning technology is already built into standard phones and tablets, so you don't need any extra hardware to use EXTAG NFC tags or QR labels.

EXTAG uses NFC and QR tags for asset identification and data collection, including NFC silicone labels (35 × 15 mm and 50 × 50 mm), tie-on and cable-tie tags, location tags, NFC Scaffold Tags and weatherproof QR labels, plus GPS tags with cellular connectivity for live location tracking of high-value assets. NFC and QR tags do not track location live: each scan can update an asset's location from the scanning device's GPS, and static assets can have their location set by dropping a pin on a map.

They do. EXTAG smart forms support buttons, sliders, selectors and tabs, dynamic colour, conditional logic, embedded images, live calculations and complete version control. Forms are also used to define assets, equipment and locations and all their related activities and tasks.

EXTAG shows status as colour-coded pins on a map and traffic-light views, and uses Microsoft Power BI to build any view you need, for your own team or your customers.

EXTAG runs on Android and iOS phones and tablets, as a native app or in a web browser, and on laptops and desktops. Field capture, reporting and mapping are in one app with one login.

Nothing. They keep their original answers. EXTAG is configured, not coded. Every record keeps a reference to the template version it was created with, so a form can change without a software release or data migration.

Yes, you can export your data at any time, for example to Excel or CSV. Your data is yours. If you leave, we return your data and securely erase ours. Tags and labels you have bought remain yours.

EXTAG is designed to be easy to use with no training required. Crews tap or scan a tag to access the right form.

Yes, integrations are possible. EXTAG connects to the systems you already use, pushing and pulling data through their available APIs, and our team configures the integrations so the right data goes to the right place. Each asset record can hold the identifiers used in other systems, such as the ERP asset number, so records stay matched. EXTAG works closely with you to determine what data needs to go where, and makes it happen.
