EXTAG – Custom Asset Management System – joined Defence West’s Team WA delegation at the 16th Avalon Australian International Airshow, showcasing Western Australia’s strength in aerospace, defence, and space technologies.

Held at Avalon Airport in Victoria, Avalon is the largest defence and aerospace trade event in the Southern Hemisphere. This year’s event featured over 900 exhibitors from 28 countries and 291 delegations, including 20 Chiefs of Air Force — highlighting the scale of international collaboration and the growing importance of sovereign capability.

For EXTAG, Avalon 2025 was not just about visibility—it was a strategic opportunity to validate our relevance in Defence and advance conversations around real-world capability gaps.

Supporting the Next Phase of Defence Transformation

As the Australian Defence Force continues its digital transformation through the Defence Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Program, Avalon reinforced a critical and recurring gap: temporary and auxiliary assets are often not captured in core ERP systems like SAP.

This theme was central to the session titled “Defence Enterprise Resource Planning Program: Enabling Defence’s Mission in the Digital Age”, where EXTAG’s relevance was clear. Our platform is well placed to complement existing ERP systems, offering flexible, user-focused tools that help bridge operational gaps without disrupting core infrastructure.

With a proven track record in the Mining, Energy, Oil & Gas sectors, our system has delivered measurable outcomes in asset-intensive environments — optimising utilisation and enabling real-time visibility. These capabilities directly support the objectives of SDIP6 – improving asset management and sustainment across Defence.

As one of five Australian SMEs selected for a competitive federal commercialisation acceleration program, EXTAG is aligned with sovereign industrial priorities. Avalon 2025 confirmed the strategic fit and national relevance of our solution.

Looking Ahead

Avalon 2025 was a key milestone in EXTAG’s Defence journey—affirming the demand for adaptable, proven technology that addresses real operational challenges.

Our thanks to Defence West, the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation, and the broader WA delegation for championing Western Australian industry on a national stage. WA’s participation sent a clear message: sovereign capability is not just a national agenda—it’s a West Australian strength.
